Marva's Bio

Performance Artist, Marva Scott is lighting up stages everywhere with her sparkling celebrity impersonations of Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Donna Summer, Whoopi Goldberg, and many more.

A regular performer on the celeb-tribute circuit, appearing everywhere from the original celebrity tribute spectacular, "Legends In Concert" to the Theaters of Europe and Japan, she brings personality and a power packed performance to special events, conventions, and production shows wherever she plays.

Marva hails from Seattle Washington where she was raised as the only girl of four children. Born April 22nd (a Taurus). Her father, the honorable Reverend Charles Headd, one of her earliest supporters and biggest fans urged her to join the church choir of the St. John's Baptist Church at an early age.

Following a stint in college, Marva directed her energies toward musical theater in Seattle, and soon moved to Los Angeles to work and study voice with renowned voice coach, Seth Riggs. While in L.A., Marva formed her own touring band aptly titled "Marva Scott and The Motor City Revue" performing primarily Motown music, and traveled the country for more than a year, there discovering a love of character development. Expanding her horizons, she decided to visit Europe and Paris where for the next ten months Ms. Scott was the featured singer in a popular sitcom called Aux Trois Malletz. Her performances in Paris led to a number of extended engagement opportunities, one of which was a stint at Caesars Palace Atlantic City. She studied acting for the summer of '97 at Strassberg Institute NYC, and pressing on to Las Vegas to become featured as the principal female vocalist in the Ted Lorenz production of Enter The Night at the Stardust Hotel for three years.

A well rounded, seasoned entertainer having worked her way up through the ranks as a singer, dancer and actress, today her celebrity impressions include such Legendary Divas as Whitney Houston, Joan Rivers and a host of others.

She does justice to her craft bringing life to each and everyone of her character impersonations, wielding a masterful sound and a voice which roars through the room to fill the house with a joyful noise.

Marva Scott is a member of Actor's Equity and IATSE (International Association of Theater and Stage Employees).
